A large number of relatives and friends were present. Rev. Allan J. Blair gave an excellent sermon and Miss Glenna Cook and Mrs. Luther Berry sang several appropriate selections, accompanied by Miss Ellen Blair at the organ. The interment was made in the Otisco cemetery in the family lot beside of his mother. The bearers were J.B. Essex, John Mehney, Leon Gleason, Will Haviland, M.W. Bloenbaugh and Frank Simons. John L. Day was born in Otisco township and at the time of his death was 44 years and 18 days old. He died in Grand Rapids Wednesday, September 20 at the Globe Hotel, where he had been staying several days. For the past year or two he had been in the employ of the Richardson Silk company, but recently had worked at odd jobs, the last being for Frank Conant, whose house he painted. Mr. Day finished his work just before leaving for Grand Rapids. Besides his father, Oscar A. Day, he leaves three brothers, Will of Caledonia, Clyde of Otisco and Jesse of Grand Rapids.
