The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Tuesday, May 30, 2000


Violet E. Day, 83, of Ionia, passed away May 29, 2000, at Sheridan Hospital.  
She was born Nov. 24, 1916, to George Haas and Mary Jubee in Fairmont, Minn.

She was a member of the Lowell Moose and married Clifford Day, Oct. 9, 1937 in 
Grand Ledge.  He preceded her in death in 1975.

She is survived by one daughter, Judy and N. B. Ellison of Ionia; three 
grandchildren, David, Steve Sr. and Timothy; six great grandchildren.  One 
brother and one sister preceded her in death.

Cremation has taken place and there will be a graveside service held on 
Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Saranac Cemetery with the Rev. Kendall Harger 
officiating.  Anyone wishing may make contributions to the Sheridan Hospital.
