Dayton, 65, of 207 South Jackson street, died Saturday morning. September 15 at 4:20 when struck by an east bound train at the Grand Trunk railroad. He was retired from the Grand Trunk railroad November 29, 1955, when he became 65. Born in Eubank, Ky., November 29 in 1890, he is survived by two brothers, W.L. Dayton of Royal Oak, and John Dayton of Imlay City; one sister, Anna Butler of McKenney, Ky., and two grandchildren. He was married to Minnie Downing in the home at 207 South Jackson street, April 24, 1954 and she had been caring for him since his illness which began a year ago. Funeral services were conducted by Boynton's funeral home Tuesday morning, September 18, at 11 o'clock with the Rev. Heath Goodwin officiating. Interment was in Balcom cemetery.
