Portland Observer, 21 Jun 1910

Mrs. J. C. Deal died Saturday night at her home in Orange after an illness of 
about five weeks.  The funeral will be held this afternoon at 1 o’clock at the 
home and an hour later at the Coleman church.

Mrs. Deal was 76 years old.  She was born in New York state, where she was 
married 45 years ago.  A year later the couple came to Muir where they lived 
for many years.  They have lived in the vicinity of Portland for about ten 
years.  She leaves one foster daughter, Mrs. Ed. Baldwin.
