Kenneth A. Dean, 79, of Mena, Ark., formerly of Grand Ledge, died June 3, 
1994, at his home following several years of poor health.  Mr. Dean was born 
Sept. 9, 1914, in Danby Township, Ionia County, the son of Harold and Bertha 
(Phillips) Dean.  He worked at John Bean Manufacturing in Lansing for several 
years before moving his family to Florida.  While in Florida, he worked as a 
building contractor until 1986 when he moved to Mena, Ark. to be near his son.

Survivors include his wife, Gladys; son, Wayne (Joyce) Dean of Mena, Ark.; 
four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Lois (Ernie) Arndt of 
Grand Ledge; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his 
parents and brother, Forest Dean.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place.  Barker-Leik Funeral 
Home, Mulliken, handled arrangements.
