She was formerly Florence Holcomb, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Florence Holcomb, and was born in Blanchard. When she was a small child her parents moved to Belding, where she completed a high school course and was graduated with the class of 1913. While living in Belding she was a student in piano of Mrs. Eva. Engle. She was a member of the Ionia Methodist Episcopal church. Her marriage to Alger Dean took placed in 1914 and in 1917 they moved to Ionia. Surviving are the husband; three children, Albert, 18, Frederick, 17, and Mary Ann, seven; her parents of Belding; two brothers, Lee Holcomb, of Chicago, and Glenn Holcomb, of Saranac; a sister, Mrs. Otto Rogers, of Pontiac. Funeral services will be conducted at the home Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock. Subsequent Publication: Monday, September 11, 1933 The funeral services for Mrs. Alger Dean, who died Thursday morning following a long illness, were conducted at the home, 437 Jones street, Saturday afternoon by Dr. M. W. Duffey. Members of the Good Cheer Sewing club, of which Mrs. Dean had been a member, attended the services in a body. The bearers were George Dean, John Dean, James Dean, Roy Whitsell, Roy Rogers and Ernest Austin. The burial was in the Highland park cemetery.
