FLORA DEAN ---------- AT HER HOME NORTH OF TOWN LAST WEDNESDAY NIGHT MAY 14 When Mrs. Flora Dean who lives three miles north of the village did not arise at the usual time, her granddaughter who lived with her, did not disturb her thinking to let her rest a little longer and so waited until the weather report rang. At so late a hour she thought surely something must be the matter that grandmother had not arisen, and going to the bedroom she tried to a waken her but failing in this called neighbors who saw that she was dead. Undertaker Weed decided that death resulted from the breaking of a blood vessel in the head. The funeral was held Saturday at her late farm home. Rev. Issac Mourer preaching the sermon, the singing by Mrs. B. B. Strauss and Mrs. A. J. Dann and burial in Lakeside cemetery. Additional Comments: OBITUARY Flora Juella Thomas was born June 30, 1853 in Jefferson Co. New York and died May 14, 1913 age 59 years 10 months and 13 days. At the age of two years she moved with her parents to Illinois soon afterwards they came to Michigan and she has lived since near the place of her death. October 15, 1871 she was married to Alphonso Dean, to this union were born two daughters, Mrs. Ettie M. Wilson who lives near the old home and Mrs. Matie B. Hansbargar who preceded he mother to the other world thirteen years ago. Her husband also passed to the beyond five years ago. Besides the daughter and husband she leaves five grandchildren and a number of other relatives to mourn her sudden departure. Aside from the kind things said by the old time friend and pastor Rev. Mourer was heard the remark that Mrs. Dean was kind loving and self sacrificing, always doing kind things for others at he privation of herself.
