Rev Paul L. Stewart conducted the services, and burial was at the Letts cemetery in Berlin township. Bearers were six of her seven sons, Pvt. LaVern Dean, stationed at San Francisco was here for the services. Pvt. George Dean, jr., of Fort Eustis, Va., was unable to get to Ionia. ------------ Ionia County News, 13 May 1943 Audrey May Dean was born in Saranac, Michigan, June 22, 1896, the daughter of the late Elmer and Laura Smith, and died May 6, at 1:30 a.m. at her home in South Ionia. She was united in marriage to George A. Dean August 1917. To this union were born seven sons and one daughter. Surviving are the husband, and Pvt. George Dean, Jr., who is stationed at Fort Eustis, Virginia. Pvt. Vern O. Dean is in the United States Marines stationed at San Francisco. Harold, Glenn, Russell, Roger, Dorothy and Wayne, at home. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Cassie Wood of Lansing and Mrs. Maxine Smith of Grand Rapids and five brothers, Robert of Ionia, Otis of Saranac, Burr of Greenville, Ward of Muskegon, and Howard of Jackson.
