Dear had started to get dressed when he evidently suffered the heart attack and fell to the living room floor where he was discovered by his wife, who had gone outside to do some farm chores, according to Sheriff Peter Van Vleck. He was born in Poland and came to Canada when he was three years old. In 1943 he married Mary Wooldridge of Windsor, Canada, and entered the United States at that time. Dear ran a small printing shop in the basement of his home where he printed books of songs. Being a printer, Dear had worked in Ionia several years ago, and had written many songs and composed some verses. The only known survivor is his wife. Funeral services were held Monday at the Fitzjohn Funeral Home and burial was in Orleans cemetery.
