DeArmond, 75, dropped dead at his home 326 Front Street, Thursday morning at 9 o’clock. Mr. DeArmond had been in failing health for the past three years with hardening of the arteries, but had been able to work. He was born in Dayton in 1859. He was married to Miss Clytie Harris of Greenville in 1905, coming to Ionia a year later. Mr. DeArmond was employed as a sander at the Stafford factory for 20 years and had been working at the Ypsilanti Reed furniture factory for a number of years. Surviving are the widow and nine children, Mrs. Jessie Point, Harriet street; Mrs. Dorothy Utter, of Lakeview; Miss Velnie DeArmond, who attends the Hastings county normal; Cenchel and Esther at Home; Roy DeArmond of Grand Rapids; Mrs. Grace McCann, of Irving; Mrs. Jessie Bush, of Battle Creek, and Mrs. Irma Foster, address unknown; 14 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon, with Rev. F. Young of the I. H. A. Mission church officiating. Interment will be at Oak Hill cemetery.
