Ionia Standard, 16 Oct 1908

Mrs. Chas. Deatsman, one of the early settlers of Sebewa, died at her home in
Sunfield Saturday morning quite suddenly.  Though she had been in failing
health, her condition had not been considered serious.  Saturday morning she
called a physician, but died soon after he came.  Her husband died in January,
1903.  Funeral services at Sebewa M. E. church on Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 13, at
2:00.  Burial in Sebewa township cemetery.  Mrs. Deatsman is survived by the
following children:  Mrs. W. J. High, Mrs. Jane Halliday, Mrs. Rhoda Eaton
Sanford, John S. Farley, Ely and Alva Deatsman, all residing in the vicinity of
Sebewa.
