Ionia Sentinel, 19 Sep 2001

Mrs. Ada A. DeBoer, 92, of Ionia, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2001 at the 
Ionia County Memorial Hospital.  She was born the daughter of Hollis and Mary 
(Knight) Tabberer on March 25, 1909 in Mayfield.  She was married to Harold 
DeBoer on Aug. 19, 1936 in Kingsley.

Ada was a member of First Baptist Church in Ionia where she was a former Sunday 
School teacher.  She was loved by many at the church and her wisdom and council 
were a benefit to the congregation.  She was co-owner with her husband of the 
Riverside Greenhouse in Ionia.  She retired in 1979.

Surviving are one son: James DeBoer of Murray, Ky.; one daughter: Carol (David) 
Manshum of Portland; 10 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two brothers: 
Keith Tabberer of Louisiana, Harry Tabberer of Hastings; two sisters: Laura 
Fausett of Grand Rapids, Flora Priester of Grand Ledge; several nieces and 
nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband Harold on May 29, 1989, one 
brother and one sister.

Visiting hours for Mrs. DeBoer will be Thursday, Sept. 20, from 2 p.m. to 4 
p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home, Rich Street Chapel, 
Ionia.  Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist 
Church in Ionia with Rev. James Bennett officiating.  Interment service will be 
in Evergreen Cemetery in Kingsley Saturday, Sept. 22, 2001 at 11 a.m.

Memorial contributions in memory of Ada may be made to the First Baptist Church 
Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
