LEAVES WIDOW AND THREE SONS. FUNERAL WEDNESDAY ------------- Among the men of influence, respect, and Christian Integrity, especially in the community of where he lived was none held in higher esteem than Cleophas DeCamp. Mr. DeCamp after a full life of 82 years gently passed away last Sunday evening, Dec. 17, 1939 from a life well lived and a life of favorable impression on others. Mr. DeCamp was born in Jefferson township, Noble county, Ind., and came with his parents to Michigan at the age of nine years. The family settled on a farm two and a half miles north of Sebewa Corners. He attended the High School in Sebewa, going from here to Portland high school, then to Valpariso, (Ind.) Normal, and again to Kalamazoo Normal. He entered the teaching profession where he taught in the rural schools of Eaton and Ionia counties for 48 years from 1877 to 1925. Many men and women of today received instruction and inspiration from his influence and advice as he was a practical view of live's responsibility. His death marks also the close of a long and active Christian life. He was a kind and loving husband and father, and he was one of the older pioneers of this section of Michigan. For upwards of 40 years Mr. DeCamp was a faithful correspondent of The Lake Odessa Wave, sending his Woodbury items regularly written by hi sown hand, even when it became very shaky with feebleness, but it was always legible. The deceased leaves his widow Susan Eudora DeCamp of Woodbury, three sons and their families, Robert of Nashville, Hugh of Imlay City, and Forrest of Woodbury, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren, together with a large circle of other relatives ad a host of friends and neighbors. Funeral services were held at his home in Woodbury, Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 20, with the Rev. E. M. Wheeler, pastor of the Woodbury U. B. church officiating and burial was in Lakeside cemetery.
