Ionia Standard, 18 Oct 1911

Mrs. Garrett Decker died on Friday, at twenty minutes to nine, at the home of her 
daughter, Mrs. Laurence W. Smith, East Main St., after an illness of about two 
months.  Her home was in Battle Creek, and she was taken ill while in Ionia for a 
visit.  She was seventy-two years old.  Besides Mrs. Smith, there are three other 
children living: Mrs. Atkinson of La Jolla, California, J.N. Decker of Battle 
Creek, E.H. Decker of Urbana, Ill.  The burial services were held in Battle Creek 
on Sunday afternoon.
