Ionia Daily Sentinel, 23 & 27 Nov 1951

William H. Decker, 72, died at the Ionia Convalescent home Friday morning about 
8:30.  He had been living there for about a year.

He was born June 3, 1879 in Bloomer township, Montcalm county, the son of Mr. 
and Mrs. Chauncey E. Decker.

A retired farmer, he had lived his entire life in Bloomer township and in 
Ionia.  For the last ten years he had made his home in Ionia with his sister, 
Mrs. Emma Longwell.  He was a member of the Montcalm County Farm Bureau.

He is survived by one other sister, Mrs. Anna Swarthout of Modesto, California.

Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. Court O. Adams Monday afternoon 
at 2 o’clock from the Stone-Kauffman funeral home.  Interment will be in the 
Bloomer cemetery in Montcalm county.

Services for William Decker who died Friday at the Ionia Rest home were held at 
the Stone-Kauffman funeral home Monday at 2 p.m.  The Rev. Court O. Adams 
officiated.  Interment was in Bloomer cemetery, Montcalm county.  Bearers were 
Earl and Leo Longwell, William E. Bradd, Ernest Green, Charles Davis and Harry 
Gainor.

Relatives from away attending the service were Mr. and Mrs. William Bradd of 
Grand Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Leo Longwell of Lake Odessa; Mr. and Mrs. Ernest 
Green of Tecumseh; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Gainor of Detroit; Mr. and Mrs. Charles 
Davis and Charlene of Hastings; and Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Dalton, Richard Kane, 
Mrs. Thomas Cunningham, William Donahue, Don L. Schultz, Ford Mason, Nina 
Decker, Mr. and Mrs. Jay Cooper, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Cooper, Mr. and Mrs. Tom 
Donahue and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Peters of Carson City.
