Lake Odessa Wave- March 1975

EVELYN E. DECKER
Lake Odessa - Mrs. Evelyn E. Decker, 76, of Lake Odessa, died Monday morning at 
Pennock hospital, Hastings, after an extended illness and a two-week hospital 
stay. She was born Aug. 17, 1898, at Petosky, the daughter of Arthur P. and 
Carrie Schleppi Austin.

She graduated from Petosky high school in 1916, and married Zeno E. Decker July 
1, 1920. They lived their entire married life in the Lake Odessa area and moved 
to their home in the village in 1951. She was a past member of the Lakeside 
grange and the Farm Bureau.

Surviving are her husband and four sons; Orville, Earl, and Max of Lake Odessa, 
and Wayne of Hastings, as well as 11 grandchildren.

She was at the Pickens-Koops funeral Chapel, Lake Odessa, where services were 
Wednesday at 1:30, Rev. William Hertel officiating. Interment was at the 
Lakeside cemetery, and committal services were held at the chapel.
