DECKER Walter E. Decker, 82, passed away early Friday morning at the Ionia Manor after a long illness. He had been a patient at the rest home for two years. A native of Shiloh, Ionia county, he was the son of Francis and Helen (Boyd) Decker and married Ruth Manning of Ionia, Aril 5, 1916. She passed away October 10, 1951. Mr. Decker came to Lake Odessa in 1916 and was a rural mail carrier here until retiring in 1951. He was a member and Past Master of the local F&AM Lodge, 395. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Forrest (Jennie) Annis of Grayling, Mrs Allen (Dorothy) Ferguson of Grand Rapids and Mrs. Wayne (Blanche) Jackson of Lake Odessa; ten grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a brother, Milton of Ionia and a sister, Mrs. Harold (Helen) Robinson of Belding. Funeral services were held on Monday at 1:30 at the Pickens Funeral Chapel. Ref. Raymond Flessner of Howard City officiated with burial in Lakeside cemetery.
