Rites Held For Fred Decker

Fred Decker, 78, of 3741 Jordan Road, Route I, Freeport, passed away Friday at 
Butterworth Hospital, Grand Rapids, where he had been hospitalized since May 16.

He was born July 25, 1898 in Carlton Township, the son of Alonzo and Elsie 
(Townsend) Decker and was a lifelong resident of the Carlton Center and Woodland 
areas with the exception of seven years when he resided in Kalamazoo.

He attended the Friend Rural School and was a farmer and carpenter, retiring in 
1962. He was a former member of the Carlton Center Grange. He married Mina 
Wilson, January 31, 1919.

Surviving are his wife, four sisters, Mrs. Audra Francis of Saginaw, Mrs. Edna 
Smith of Lake Odessa, Mrs. Norma Lauer and Mrs. Mildred Endsley of Freeport;  
nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Monday at one o'clock at the Pickens-Koops Funeral 
Chapel at Lake Odessa. Rev. Harold Price officiated with burial in the Fuller 
Cemetery, Carlton Township.
