Decker, 86, of 724 West Lincoln died Thursday morning at his home. Born in Ronald township December 25, 1886, he was the son of Eugene and Jennie Boyd Decker and attended Piper school. He worked on the family farm until beginning work at Ionia Post Office in 1915 as a rural mail carrier. He carried mail on route 3 for 41 years before retiring in 1956. November 14, 1917 he was married to Iva P. Hill in the home on West Lincoln which was to be their residence their entire married life. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1967. He was a member of First Untied Methodist church. Surviving besides the wife Iva, are two daughters, Mrs. Donna Higgins of rural Ionia and Mrs. Betty Layle of Ionia; two grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Helen Robinson of Belding. Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Leddick funeral home. Rev. Harold Johnson of First Presbyterian church will officiate and interment will be at Orleans cemetery. Family will be at the funeral home Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 p.m. Subsequent Publication: Monday, September 24, 1973 Rev. Harold Johnson of First Presbyterian church of Ionia officiated at funeral services Saturday at 2 p.m. for Milton F. Decker, who died Thursday. Interment was at Orleans cemetery. Bearers were Donald Chance, Marion Munn, Elmer King, Douglas Stark, Denny Higgins and Wayne Brown.
