DeCoster against disease and death ended Sunday morning, the great conqueror of all being victorious. The funeral services were held from the home of his son Allen Wednesday afternoon, Mrs. Julia Moffatt officiating, and the burial took place at the River ridge cemetery. The floral tokens were many and beautiful. Mr. DeCoster was the founder and organizer of the Belding Shoe Co., and until his health failed the superintendent of that concern. He has been a resident here about six years and his demise is sincerely mourned by a large circle of friends. He was born in Massachusetts, was in his 49th year, and had traveled much and had varied experiences. He leaves a devoted wife and four children, three sons and one daughter. He was attacked over two years ago with that dread disease consumption and although friends tried to believe it was not that, and tried a change of climate, it slowly but steadily gained upon him. It has been about a year since he ceased labor entirely and for some time he has realized there was no hope of recovery yet maintained his same cheerful disposition. The hands in the factory all feel they have lost a true friend and the entire community mourns.
