DeGarmo who died Sunday at the Clinton Memorial hospital in St. Johns from injuries received when kicked two weeks ago by a vicious horse. Rev. L. M. Whittemore, pastor of the Lyons Methodist church conducted the services and bearers were Edward Elvert, William Bennett, William Harrison, Darius Stone, Judson Stone and Bert Stone. The floral offerings were in charge of Mrs. Edward Elvert, Miss Lydia Elvert and Miss Lucille Elvert. Members of the Lyons chapter of the Eastern Star and of the Lyons Masonic order attended the services in a body and it was said to have been one of the largest funerals ever held in that vicinity. Burial services were held at Highland in Oakland county Wednesday afternoon at 3 o’clock where a short prayer service was ready by Rev. Whittemore. Interment was at the family lot at the Highland cemetery. Besides the many friends and relatives from Lyons township and vicinity others attending from away were Miss Anna DeGarmo, Mrs. Irene Haptner and Harry DeGarmo, of Highland; Mr. and Mrs. George H. McGillivray, of Lyons; Mrs. Dale Eddy, of Flint; Mr. and Mrs. C. Southwick, of Mt. Pleasant; Mr. and Mrs. Burton VanHaafton, of South Haven; Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Sowers, of Lansing; Mr. and Mrs. Russell Jessup, Miss Mildred Jessup, James Jessup and Mrs. S. Roslin, of Kalamazoo; Mr. and Mrs. William Alderman, of Shepherd; Victor Fortune, of Jackson; Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Clough of Portland and Mrs. Russell Gais and son, of Belding.
