Ionia Daily Sentinel Standard, 9 Aug 1958

Orin DeGroat, 69, route two, Saranac, died at his farm home in Boston township
Saturday morning at 5:30.  Mr. DeGroat had been ill about two weeks.  Born
August 21, 1888 in Big Rapids, he was the son of Charles and Katherine DeGroat.
 Mr. DeGroat had been employed by Ionia Manufacturing Co. the past 20 years.

Surviving are his wife, Mildred; three daughters, Mrs. Veryl Morrow of Saranac,
Mrs. Catherine Miller of Lowell, and Mrs. Carline Allen of Ionia; 12
grandchildren; two brothers, Almond of Muskegon and Jay of Big Rapids, and one
sister, Mrs. Irene Thomas of Lansing.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Myers funeral home with
the Rev. L.F. Luard of Saranac officiating.  Interment will be at Easton cemetery.
