He had been expecting to be able to return home soon. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Seneca DeHart and born at Weidman 41 years ago. While a young man he learned the carpenter trade and had always followed this vocation having contracted in Buffalo, N.Y. and Lansing before coming to Ionia some 14 years ago. He continued contracting in Ionia and had erected several new houses and remodeled others. Surviving are the widow, who was formerly Miss Vera Shaw, of St. Johns, five children, George, Ruth, Helen, Lloyd and Kenneth; three brothers, Harvey and Clarence of Ionia and Ernest of Fremont; a sister, Mrs. William Mindell of Mt. Pleasant. Funeral services will be conducted at the Stebbins funeral home Friday afternoon at 1:30 by Dr. M.W. Duffey. Burial will be in the Tuttle cemetery. Mr. DeHart was a member of the Elks lodge, the Moose lodge and the Methodist Episcopal church.
