The Ionia Standard, Thursday, June 12, 1879
Mrs. John DeLaney, an elderly lady living in the eastern part of the city, 
dropped dead on Thursday afternoon of last week.  Apoplexy was the cause of 
her sudden demise.  The funeral occurred on Saturday at the Disciple church.  
She was an old resident of Ionia and was widely respected.
