Funeral Held for Mrs. DeLaVergne

Funeral services for Mrs. Minnie DeLaVergne, 56, who died at Ionia last Friday 
after a prolonged illness, were held from the Neller Funeral home at 2 p.m. 
Tuesday, with the Rev. E.A. Waldeck officiating.  Burial was in Portland 
cemetery.

Mrs. DeLaVergne is survived by four brothers, Edward Newman, Eagle; Joseph 
Newman, Finlay, Ohio; James Newman, Milford, Mich., and Daniel Newman, 
Lansing.  There are two sisters: Mrs. Cora Smithson, Lansing, and Mrs. Mabel 
Hailey, South Bend, Indiana.

The deceased was the daughter of the late James and Susan Newman.  She was 
married in 19?? to Clarence DeLaVergne.  They were separated in 1928.
