Ionia Daily Standard, 16 Dec 1918

Charles de la Vergne, a young farmer living north of Muir, died Sunday evening 
from influenza, at the age of thirty-four.  The funeral will be held Wednesday at 
two o’clock, at Lyons, and will be private.  He leaves a wife and young child, 
both at the point of death from the same disease.  He also leaves parents, Mr. 
and Mrs. L. de la Vergne, five brothers, and two sisters, one of the latter being 
Mrs. Charles Dunsmore of this city.
