In 1865 he was united in marriage to Miss Elizabeth Banns and to them eleven children were born, seven of whom survive; Lewis in North Dakota, Mrs. Jessie Dunsmore of Ionia, Mrs. Anna Stiles of Ronald township, Clarence and Herbert of Eagle, B.W. of Harbor Springs and Harry, who lives in the parental home in Midland. The body was brought to Lyons. Funeral services were held in the Methodist church on Tuesday, May 2, at 2 p.m., Rev. Charles Nease officiating, and Mrs. V. F. Upton and Mrs. Eugene Vance sang appropriate hymns selected by the wife and mother. The body was laid to rest in the Lyons cemetery.
