He was the son of Adam and Catherine Dell, pioneer residents of Sunfield township and was born on the farm east of Woodbury on M-43 now owned by Leo Hynes. Mr. Dell served on the Woodland village council for 20 years and was a member of the board of education for 13 years, serving from 1928 to 1941. He was manager of the Smith Bros. Velte and Co. Elevator at Woodland for about 45 years, retiring eight years ago. He was also active in the Woodland Masonic lodge, Knights of Pythias and a member of the Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife Anna; one son Elwyn of Wayne; one daughter Dorothy at home; four sisters Mrs. C. L. Wildt of Bellevue, Mrs. Emma Fisher of Saginaw, Mrs. Walter Tasker of route 1 Lake Odessa and Mrs. Ernest Krebs of rural Sunfield and one grandson. Mr. Dell reposed at the Wing and Pickens funeral home until Thursday noon, then taken to the Woodland Methodist Church where funeral services were held at 2 p.m.. Burial in Lakeside cemetery.
