Barbara was born in Belding, MI. on July 29, 1928, a daughter of the late Nora and Hugh Gardner. She was raised int he Belding area and attended local schools, After she completed her education, she married Ernest Dell on Jan. 11, 1946. Barbara & Ernest started their life together on the family farm in Weidman, MI. They moved to California in 1959, three months later they relocated to Northville, MI for a short time, eventually settling in the Nashville area. Barbara spent 23 years of her working career as an LPN at the Kalamazoo State Hospital and Mount Pleasant State Home & Training School, retiring in 1984. In her spare time, Barbara enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and attending craft shows where she sold stuffed animals, t-shirts, dolls and "Twisters:. She also enjoyed fishing, golfing and was an avid softball player who enjoyed playing competitively well into her 50s. Along with her husband, the couple enjoyed winters in Lake Placid,FL. Barbara is survived by her children, Robert (Deborah) Dell,Nora (Alan) Bross; her sister, Maxine (Harvey) Poling; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband,Ernest; daughter, Chery Dell; granddaughter, Heather and her brothers, Edward & Gordon Gardner. The family will receive visitors at 10 a on Saturday, March 25, 2023, a the Nashville Assembly of God Church, 735 Reed Street.The funeral service will follow at 11a.m with Pastor Glenn Branham officiating Immediately following the funeral service family & friends are invited to remain at the church for a time of fellowship and a luncheon. Interment will take place privately at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta,MI. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Daniels Funeral Home in Nashville, MI., Conveniently located at 9200 E.
