Daily we meet people who are shedding a silent tear, and wearing the mantle of mourning because a near and dear friend has been removed by the strong arm of death, and death is no respector or persons regardless of age, position or wealth. Four years ago Miss Dora Otto and John Demaray were united in matrimony desiring to walk the path of life together, doubtless looking forward in the future with bright and glowing anticipations whern they should by their own hands of industry be surrounded by the comforts and necessaries of life. Two years passed along very encouraging and pleasant ant then Dora finds that some disease is praying upon her system and the best medical authority was consulted and remedies were administered but to no avail. Gradually, step by step her vital force gave way and on the 31st of July she fell a victim of that long lingering and dreaded disease, consumption. During her long illness she was patient and toward the closing of her life she seemed to be perfectly reconciled to her fate and ready to meet her reward and entreated her friends to prepare to meet her in the other world. She received the very best and tenderest of care during her long and lingering illness by both her affectionate husband and her kind parents. Mrs.Dora Demaray was taken away right in the prime and vigor of womanhood, being only 28 years of age.She was the daughter of L.W. and Cordelia Otto, they being one of the pioneer families of the township of Woodland. Mr.Otto is one of the men who located in woodland when nature's magnificent forests were yet towering high over the most of the township and he is one of the men who has helped to bring Woodland from its wild condition up to its present beautiful appearance and they have all these years been honored and respected citizens of Woodland, and now are residents of Odessa and judging by the past will be honored and respected citizens of the township of Odessa. In conclusion the bereaved family desire to extend their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to their many friends who were so very kind on helping them care for the deceased during her long and protracted illness and for the large and massive gathering that assisted in burying her remains.
