Lowell E. DeMond, 81, of Lake Odessa died unexpectedly at his home Saturday 
afternoon on Jordan Lake after returning from the Lake Odessa fair.  He was 
born April 7, 1873, the son of Peter and Mary DeMond, in Woodland township and 
was a retired farmer of south west of Woodland and had been a resident of Lake 
Odessa for the last 10 years.  His wife, Martha, preceded him in death 11 
years ago.  Surviving are two sons, Claude and Howard, both of Woodland and 
five grandchildren. 

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock at Wing and Pickens 
funeral chapel at Woodland with the Rev. Earl Sease officiating.  Interment 
was at Woodland Memorial cemetery.
