Services Held for Gertrude Demoor

Mrs. Gertrude (Carter) Demoor, 67, of Kalamazoo passed away Thursday at the
Provincial House in that city after a few months’ illness.  Mrs. Demoor was the
daughter of the late Leon and Jennie Carter of Lake Odessa.  She was a graduate
of the Lake Odessa class of 1922. She graduated from W.S.U. and had taught in
the Kalamazoo schools until her retirement a year ago.

Her husband, Isaac Demoor, passed away in April, 1959.  Surviving are one
daughter, Mrs. Joyce Johnson of Brookline, Mass.; two sons, Don of Charlevoix
and David of Lexington Park, Maryland; four sisters, Mrs. Doris Wheeler and Mrs.
Evelyn Schipper of Middleville, Mrs. Lois Myers of Vassar and Mrs. Laura
Walkington of Lake Odessa; and one brother Morris Carter of Lake Odessa.

Funeral services were held at Langland Memorial Chapel in Kalamazoo Sunday.
