One of an Aged Couple Dead.

John Demorest died at his home in the south part of town on Monday evening 
last, of old age, he being 81 years of age.  He had been confined to his bed 
but a short time, and his wants and those of his aged wife (who is 84 years of 
age) had been looked after by their neighbors, the King’s Daughters, and 
Masonic fraternity, of which deceased was an old member.  The couple came here 
from Lansing a couple of years ago, although they had lived here before 
removing to Lansing.

The funeral will be conducted from the house at 10:30 o’clock on Wednesday of 
this week, and burial made by the Masonic fraternity.

Mrs. Demorest is in feeble health and she will probably not long survive her 
husband, and she had not been apprised of his dangerous condition until it was 
seen he could not live much longer.  The case is a sad one, indeed.
