Joseph E. Dennie Jr., aged 59, of Lyons, passed away Feb. 12, 2008.  He was 
born Feb. 21, 1948 in Ionia, Mich., the son of Joseph H. and Imogene (Cottrel) 
Dennie.  He attended Twin Rivers, Lyons and Ionia Schools.  Joseph was a past 
member of the Lyons Fire Department.  He worked for Ionia City Police as a 
dispatcher, trained in HASMAT.  Joseph also worked for Lacks in Grand Rapids 
as security until medical retirement.

He is survived by his sister, Janice Hamilton of Lyons; nephews, Robert 
Hamilton Jr. of Lyons, Harold (Mary) Hamilton of Grand Rapids; niece Tina 
(Larry) Anthony of Portland; two great-nieces and nephews and several great-
great-nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his father in 1970 and 
mother in 1994.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, at Lake Funeral 
Home in Ionia.  In lieu of flowers you may make contributions to American 
Heart Association, American Cancer Association or Ionia County Animal Shelter.
