Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:30 p.m. from the Stone-Kauffman 
funeral home for Mrs. Norwood Dennis, 42, of rural route Orleans.  Mrs. Dennis 
died early Saturday morning at university hospital in Ann Arbor.  She had been 
a patient there since July 29.

Mrs. Dennis was born July 25, 1913 near Woodard lake, the daughter of Mr. and 
Mrs. Herbert L. Smith.  She spent most of her life living in the vicinity of 
Woodard lake.  In 1929 she was married to Norwood Dennis and with her husband 
has operated the Dennis Market on M-66 near the Woodard Lake corners.  She was 
a former member of the First Christian church of Ionia.  She was a member of 
the Ronald Willing Workers.

Besides her husband she is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Theodore 
Strickling of Lansing, Joan and Charlene at home, and one son Norman at home; 
her father, Herbert L. Smith; one brother, Milton D. Smith of Fenwick; one 
sister, Mrs. Charles A. Brown of Ionia.  One brother, Gorham, preceded her in 
death.  

Interment will be at Woodard Lake cemetery.
