Laura M. (Stone) Denny, 84, of Ionia, died Jan. 22, 1995 at her home.  She was 
born May 22, 1910, in Lowell, the daughter of Charles and Nellie (Collier) 
Davis.

She was the owner and operator of Laura’s Grill in Ionia.  She also worked as 
a food supervisor for the state hospital for 11 years.  She was a member of 
SS. Peter & Paul’s Catholic Church, Our Lady of Fatima Circle, the Altar 
Rosary Society and the Ionia Moose.

She is survived by one son, Charles (Rochelle) Stone, of Ionia; three 
grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Frieda Kane, of 
Ionia.  She was preceded in death by two husband: George Stone and Ernest 
Denny; and two sons; Tom and Doug Stone.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at SS. Peter & Paul’s 
Catholic Church.  The Rev. Charlon Mason will officiate.  Burial will be in 
Highland Park Cemetery, Ionia.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Cook 
Funeral Home in Ionia. A prayer vigil service will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday 
at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to the SS. Peter & Paul’s Catholic 
Church Memorial Fund.  Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
