Ionia Daily Sentinel – 17 May 1937
Jay R. Densmore, 71, years old died Monday morning at 11 o’clock at Blodgett 
Hospital Grand Rapids where he had been taken a week ago having suffered a 
stroke Sunday, May 9.  He had farmed all his life in Keene Township until seven 
years ago when he moved to Saranac. He was an active member of the Keene 
grange.  He is survived by his wife Ella, one daughter, Mrs. J. J. Hillis of 
Detroit, one son, Max at home and three grandchildren, two brothers, W. E. 
Densmore and A. S. Densmore of Saranac and one sister, Mrs. Nellie Newland of 
Olivet.



Funeral services will be held on Wednesday afternoon May 19 at 2 o’clock at the 
Congregational Church, Rev. John Gerhig conducting the services.  Burial will 
be in the Easton Cemetery.
