Densmore, 87, of 937 Haynor road, died Monday noon at the Ionia Manor where he was a patient for the past six months. He was born in Oil City, Pennsylvania August 16, 1890, the son of Eugene and Catherine Madden Densmore and attended schools in Pennsylvania. Mr. Densmore worked in oilfields before moving to Detroit where he was employed as a Detroit city police officer for 30 years, retiring as a lieutenant in 1945. He married the former Minnie Alexander in Ionia January 20, 1941 and they made their home in Ionia since that time. Mr. Densmore was a member of the Detroit Friendship Lodge 417 F & AM, the Metropolitan Square and Compass club, the Detroit Police Officers Association and the Detroit Retired Police Officers Association. Survivors include his wife; one son, Jack of Detroit; two daughters, Mrs. Clyde (Dorothy) and Mrs. Victor (Helen) Inman of Ionia; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and one brother, Frank of Rochester. Services are Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Leddick funeral home with Rev. Nolan Williams of Easton United Methodist Church officiating. Burial is in Easton cemetery.
