Francis E. Densmore, 83, of Portland, passed away on March 13, 2009.  He was
born October 10, 1925 in Danby Township the son of Nelson and Johanna
(Trierweiler) Densmore.  Francis was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church,
and the Knights of Columbus #2168 in Portland.  He was a lifelong farmer, living
on the same farm his whole life.  His family was very important to him, he
enjoyed the yearly trip to Ludington and spending time during the winter in
Florida with his wife, Joyce.

Francis was preceded in death by his grandson, Trevor Buck; sisters Laurina
Knight, Catherine Romwalter, Josephine Westrin, Bernestine McNamara; brothers
George, Herb and Robert, Sr. Densmore.

Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Joyce; children Sr. Diane Densmore of Allen
Park, Cheryl Pline of Grand Ledge, Dave (Tina) Densmore of Portland, Marlene
(David) Simon of Portland, Linda (Brent Hadfield) Wheeler of Charlotte, Mary
(Jan) Powell of Sheridan, Tom (Cathey) Densmore, Sr.; 19 grandchildren and 14
great-grandchildren and three on the way; sister-in-law Clara Belle Nurenberg;
many nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial was held March 18 at St. Patrick Catholic Church,
Portland with Rev. Larry King, presiding.  Rite of committal followed at
Portland Cemetery.  Arrangements were entrusted to the Schrauben-Lehman funeral
Home, Portland.  For those wishing memorial contributions may be made to the St.
Patrick Boiler Fund or Fr. Flohe foundation in memory of Francis.
