Former Belding Resident Dies in Grand Rapids

Mrs. Mary Denton, 79, widow of John Denton, long time resident of Belding, died 
in the Doyle Sanitarium at Grand Rapids, early Friday morning, May 2.  She had 
been a patient there for the past year.

Mrs. Denton was born January 31, 1862, in Vergennes township, Kent County, and 
came to Belding about 36 years ago.  She had resided here continuously since 
until about one year ago, when she entered the Doyle Sanitarium.

She was a former member of the Royal Neighbors.

Surviving are:  four sisters, Mrs. Agnes Stevens, Mrs. Susan Soules, and Mrs. 
Ella Anderson all of Grand Rapids, and Mrs. Austin Byrne of Keene township.

Funeral services were held at the Fitzjohn Funeral home in Belding, Sunday 
afternoon, at 2:30.  Rev. Fred W. Gunther, of the Baptist church officiated and 
burial was in Marble cemetery, Keene township.
