Ionia Sentinel – 4 November 1976
Cora Denton, 87, died Thursday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lynn Morris on 
Horizon Drive.  She was born in Berlin Township, November 19, 1888, the 
daughter of (unreadable) and Agnes Snobble Vandecar.  She attended Coon and 
Henderleiter schools, Saranac high school and Ionia county normal.  She taught 
in Durkee and Med Street (Bennett Road) rural schools.  She married Arthur 
Denton of Lowell June 22, 1910.  He preceded her in death in 1972.  They bought 
a farm on Peck Lake road and lived there most of their lives, spending winters 
in Eustis, Florida.



Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Ariel Morris of Ionia; three 
granddaughters, Mrs. Sharron Kircher of Layton, Utah; Mrs. Ardelis Endrei of 
Shaker Heights, Ohio and Mrs. Alaina Trout of Fenwick.  Six great-grandchildren 
also survive.  Services are Saturday at 2 pm from the Roetman funeral home in 
Saranac with Rev. Lloyd Walker of the Berlin Center United Methodist church 
officiating.  Burial is in Saranac cemetery.  The family will receive friends 
and relatives at the funeral home Friday, 7 to 9pm.  A memorial fund is 
established for the Berlin Center United Methodist church.
