Ionia Shopper's Guide  - September 23, 2017
    Pauline M. Denton, 95 passed peacefully on Friday, September 15, 2017 at
Moosehavn Life Creek Center in Orang Park, Florida.  Pauline was born October 
23, 1921 in Grand Rapids, MI daughter of Herschel and Viola (Shippee) Stratton.
   She attended Belding High School.  For many years she worked at Royal Downs 
where she was a supervisor.  She enjoyed sewing and made many of her daughter's 
clothes, she also liked to crochet, crafts, bowling, bingo and being a mother 
and grandmother.  She was a Moose Lodge member since 1969 and was on a bowling 
league also worked for the Moose Lodge several years.  Pauline met Samuel A.
Raby and they were married in November 1939, he passed away April 11, 1968.  
She married her second husband Richard Denton December 26, 1991.  Pauline will 
be greatly missed by her family and friends.
   Pauline is loved and survived by her children; Beverly Young Florida, Donna (Dan)
Hannah Florida, LeeAnn (Luke) White of Belding, Step children Lori Denton Mazzola, 
Sheridan MI, Mike Denton Detroit, MI Mark Denton Sheridan, MI, grandchildren; 
Sheryl Kennedy, Debra Breimayer-Johnson, Dennis (Dawn Fisher-piper) Kennedy, 
David (Karen) Bowen, Dawn (Terry) Gunther, Amy (Dan) Hoffman, Tiffany (Chris) 
Simpson, Krystyna (Joel) Jannenga, Shawn White, 16 great grandchildren and 16 
great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
   Pauline was preceded by her parents, her husband's Samuel Baby, Richard Denton,
daughter Patricia Kennedy, son in laws Dale Kennedy and Gordon Young, grandson 
Don Kennedy and granddaughters Ginger Swain, Connie Roberts, Brother James Stratton 
and nephew Paul Stratton.
   A graveside memorial will be given in August 2018 at Greens Corners Cemetery.
