He was born May 20, 1936, to Maurice and Helen Holbrook DePue, in Chester Township, Eaton County. He married Eileen Robert. He was a member of the Walter T. Roach American Legion Post 182, Hubbardston. He loved training horses and taking his family on trail rides. He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Brion Duerr of Powell, Tenn.; four sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Melanie DePue of Red Rock, Ontario, Canada, Randy and Mary Jo DePue of Naperville, Ill., Ricky and Jenny DePue of Crystal River, Fla., Timothy and Christine DePue of Eaton Rapids; 12 grandchildren; seven sisters and six brothers-in-law, Jean and Paul Schafer, Dorothy Fisher, Shirley and Dick Rinckey, all of Hubbardston, Carole and Ron Stevens of Stanton, Kathy and Stan Cooper of Sheridan, Jenny and Steve Schrauben of Hubbardston, Delores and Ron Corwin of Sidney; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank and Judy DePue of Greenville, Dean and Rose DePue of Sheridan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Maurice and Helen DePue, and one brother, David DePue. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Nov. 24, 1999, at the Lux and Schnepp Funeral Home, Carson City, with the Rev. Ried Martin officiating. Interment was in East Plains Cemetery, Matherton.
