Portland Review & Observer, 27 Feb 1984

John L. Dertinger, 89, of 1800 Lillian Blvd., Portland, died Feb. 21 in
Portland.  He was born April 19, 1896 in Ontario, Canada, the son of Adam and
Maggie (Dumeah) Dertinger. 

Three daughters preceded him in death.  Surviving are his wife, Bernita; two
step-sons, Alex Pung of Lake Odessa and Roy Pung of Jackson; four
step-daughters, Clare Cavendish of Hollywood, Fla., Lee McMary of Palos Verdes,
Calif., Monica Bailey of Portland and Rosella Thomas of Portland; 27
grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services were held at Assumption Church in Windsor, Ontario, Feb. 23 with the
Rev. Donlon officiating.  Burial followed in Assumption Cemetery.
