Desgranges, 81, 1112 Second Ave., Lake Odessa passed away Monday evening at Pennock Hospital, Hastings where she had been a patient for the past 27 days. She suffered a stroke in February of 1976. Mrs. Desgranges was born in Barry County on May 23, 1897. She is the daughter of Monroe and Lula (Wright) Rowlader. October 8, 1913 she married John Wesley Degranges in Henry County, Ionia. He preceded her in death August 1961. They lived in Ohio until 1927 when they moved to the Lake Odessa area. She worked at the Lake Odessa Canning Company for a number of years before moving to Eaton Rapids in 1939. In 1949 they moved back to Lake Odessa. She was a member of the Calvary United Brethren Church, W.M.A. and the Blue Star Mothers. Survivors include 7 sons: Willard, LaVon, and Elwood of Eaton Rapids; Clarence of Lansing; Paul, Aubrey and Glenn of Lake Odessa; 4 daughters, Mrs. Forrest Laura Haney, Mrs. Roger Alora Allen, and Mrs. John Opal Booker of Lake Odessa; Mrs. Orman Alora Lee of Berry; 33 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, one brother, Bert Rowlader of the Barry County Medical Facility and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Degranges is at the Pickens-Coop funeral chapel in Lake Odessa. Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. with Rev. George Spears and Joseph Fox officiating. Burial will be at the Lakeside Cemetery.
