He was born April 23, 1877 in Henry county, Ohio, the son of Peter and Mary Dirr Desgranges and was married October 8, 1913 in Charlotte to Ruth Rowlader. They came to Lake Odessa from Ohio in 1927 and resided on a farm west of town on M50 until he retired in 1950 and moved to their home in the village. Surviving are his wife, Ruth; four daughters, Mrs. Forest Haney and Mrs. Roger Allen of Lake Odessa, and Mrs. John Booher and Mrs. Orman Lee of Woodland; seven sons, LaVon of Eaton Rapids, Clarence of Lansing, Willard, Paul, Elwood, Aubrey and Glenn of Lake Odessa; 26 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Carrie Foltz of Continental, Ohio. Funeral services will be at Pickens funeral chapel Friday at 2 p.m. with burial at Lakeside cemetery. The Rev. Henry Hulbert of Calvary United Brethren church, and Rev. Isaac Osgood of Woodland United Brethren church, will officiate.
