Glenn was raised in Eaton Rapids and Lake Odessa, where he graduated from Lake Odessa High School. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1955-1957. Glenn married Delores Kay Kloss in 1956. He partnered with his brother-in-law and oldest sister, Forrest and Laura Haney, in the service station business of Gulf Oil Co. in Lake Odessa. Glenn later began his life- long career as a policeman in 1960 with the Ionia County Sheriff’s Department and soon ascended to the Chief of Police for the Lake Odessa Police Department until his retirement in 1991. Glenn was preceded in death by Delores in 1987, and later married Judi Haskins of Woodland in 1991. Glenn began his second lease on life on the second birthday of his twin daughters with a heart transplant at Loyola University in Chicago on January 21, 1996. Glenn supplemented his career as an Architectural/Builder as Glenn Forrest Developers with many properties located in Ionia County, including his custom home on Jordan Lake in Lake Odessa. With his love of automobiles, he formed and operated Lake O’Des Sales, a used car dealership, with his wife, Judi, until his death on July 7, 2006 at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee, WI, while waiting for a heart and kidney transplant. Glenn was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Delores,; and brothers, sisters, and in-laws, Lavon Desgranges, Paul Desgranges, Laura and Forrest Haney, Willard and Elizabeth Desgranges, Pete Lee, and Freda Desgranges. He is survived by his wife, Judi; children, Darrel and Chris Desgranges, Lori Dee Desgranges, Doug and Cindy Desgranges, Todd Desgranges and Joseph Blume, Scott and Kathy Stuit, Danica Desgranges, and Derrica Desgranges; grandchildren, Glenn II and fiancé Amanda Blood, Alyssa, Doug, Devin, and Loreal Desgranges, and Lucas and Allyssa Stuit; brothers and sisters, Clarence and Nancy Desgranges, Aubrey and Barbara Desgranges, Elwood and Betty Desgranges, Dorothy Desgranges, Opal and John Booher, Alona and Roger Allen, and Arloa Lee; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Don and Marilyn Haskins, brother-in-law, Mike Haskins and nephews Bryan, Matt, and Nick; sister-in-law, Lori Shepard and Doug Prader and nephews, Cory Baker and fiancé, Melissa Thomas, Dusty Shepard, and niece, Lynsey Shepard; and many more nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at the Lakewood United Methodist Church on Wednesday, July 12 from 1 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the Lakewood United Methodist Church on Thursday, July 13, at 11 a.m. with interment in Lakeside Cemetery in Lake Odessa. In lieu of flowers, it is strongly suggested the contributions in Glenn’s memory be made to the “Have-A- Heart Foundation” or the college education fund for his daughters, Danica and Derrica Desgranges.
