April 7, 1927 ANOTHER FORMER RESIDENT PASSES Word has been received by Michigan relatives of the passing of Mrs.Minnie Detterick, who was killed in an automobile accident at Long Beach, California, where she resided. She leaves two daughters,Mrs.Elmer Putnam of Marshall and Mrs.Geo Lapo of Portland, besides numerous other relatives residing in Bellevue, Marshall, Battle Creek, Nashville, Portland and Grand Rapids. Mrs. Detterick was well known east of town, as she and her husband Mark, operated a general store years ago under the firm name of Reese and Detterick, at what was then known as Rosina. Later they moved the business to Woodbury. About 40 years ago, on account of Mr.Detterick's health, the family moved to East Las Vegas, New Mexico. Later they moved to Long Beach, California, where Mrs.Detterick died about four years ago. Mrs. Detterick had an unusually sunny disposition, making friends easily, was a devout Christian, and was always ready with her aid and sympathy in times of trouble. She was 75 years old at the time of her death, and enjoying unusually good health and activity for her age. (The above was sent in to this paper by an old subscriber, Elmer Clark, of Battle Creek.
