Belding Banner – Thursday, 28 April 1910
John Devendorf, one of the old and respected citizens of this community, died 
at his home in Otisco Saturday night aged 68 year.  He moved from Fairplains a 
number of years ago to his late home and leaves a wife and niece, Neva King.  
Rev. D. E. Hills of Greenville officiated at the funeral held at the house 
Wednesday and the remains were taken to Greenville for burial.  He was an 
excellent citizen and had many friends in this community.  The funeral was 
very largely attended, many friends with teams following the remains to their 
last resting place.  He was a pioneer of Fairplains in Montcalm County.
