Forrest W. “Fist” Dever, 84, of Belding, passed away Saturday afternoon, April
9, 2005, at Plainwell Pines, Plainwell.  He was born Jan. 2, 1921, in Owensboro,
Ky., the son of Henry L. and Maude Fallaway Dever.

Forrest was a past Golden Gloves champion and was for many years a professional
prize fighter with 87 wins in the ring.  He had fought at Madison Square Garden
in New York.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Lena; and three brothers,
James, Hank and Billie.  He is survived by his children and their spouses, John
and Judy Dever of Wyoming, Ronald and Charlotte Dever, Thomas and Shirley Dever,
all of Belding; six grandchildren; several great grandchildren; sister and
brother, Lena Donlley of Florida, Charles Dever of California; and special
friend, Doris Black of Grattan.

Funeral services are 2 p.m. Tuesday at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding.
 Interment is in Rest Haven Memory Gardens, Belding.  Visitation is one hour
prior to the service.  Memorial contributions may be given to a charity of one’s
choice.
